Countries I have visited

My goal is to visit all of the wonders of the world (15) and as many countries (of 195) as possible.

The world map below is interactive, in as much that it can identify the country by hovering over the map with the mouse pointer if your are using a mouse or by clicking the country on a touch-screen device like a tablet. It is best viewed on a large display screen, not a phone.

The map can be zoomed in/out using the '+' or '-' sysmbols and dragged using the normal mouse actions (click & hold) or using finger gestures on touch-screens.

Note that the countries shown as green are countries that I have actually visited.

Wonders of the World!

The Greek historian Herodotus (484 – c. 425 BC) and the scholar Callimachus of Cyrene (c. 305–240 BC), at the Museum of Alexandria, made early lists of seven wonders. These lists have not survived, however, except as references in other writings (so there is some doubt). Today we call them the '7 Ancient Wonders of the World' and only one has survived, The 'Great Pyramid of Giza' in Egypt.

Following in the tradition of the classical list, modern people and organisations have made their own lists of wonderful things, both ancient and modern, natural and artificial. For my travel purposes, I have chosen the '7 Wonders of the Natrural World' and the 'New 7 Wonders of the World'.

This gives me 15 wonders' to see, I have listed all 15 of them below and if you hover over an image with a mouse or touch an image on a touch screen, it will reveal the wonder and if I have visited.
